Week two in Acts 1’s account of Jesus’s ascension, titled “Faithful Under Pressure.” Brian picked back up in verse 8, walking through the geography Jesus names deliberately: Jerusalem, one city; Judea, the surrounding region; Samaria, further out and culturally hostile territory; then the ends of the earth. It’s not a random list - it’s concentric circles of gospel witness, starting exactly where the disciples were standing.
The room also dug into what changes with the Holy Spirit’s arrival. In the Old Testament, God’s Spirit came on specific people for specific tasks, temporarily, from the outside in. In the New Testament, the Spirit takes up permanent residence inside every believer - described elsewhere as a seal, a deposit, a guarantee. That’s the “power” the disciples were promised, and it didn’t arrive immediately: Acts 2 opens on the day of Pentecost, fifty days after Passover, meaning the disciples waited in uncertainty for weeks between the promise and its fulfillment.
That gap is where the title lands. Faithful under pressure isn’t about heroic action in a crisis; it’s about staying obedient and present during the in-between - after the promise has been made but before it’s visibly delivered, when waiting itself is the assignment.

Brian retomó el versículo 8, recorriendo la geografía que Jesús nombra deliberadamente: Jerusalén, una ciudad; Judea, la región circundante; Samaria, más lejos y territorio culturalmente hostil; y luego los confines de la tierra. No es una lista al azar: son círculos concéntricos de testimonio del evangelio, comenzando exactamente donde los discípulos estaban parados.
La sala también exploró qué cambia con la llegada del Espíritu Santo. En el Antiguo Testamento, el Espíritu de Dios venía sobre personas específicas para tareas específicas, temporalmente, de afuera hacia adentro.
